The Wildcat Guardians Improving Wildcat Creek
February 14, 2019 @ 6:45 pm - 8:30 pm

On Thursday, February 14th, Rick Parsons, a member of the Wildcat Guardians, will be discussing the newest project to help improve and sustain a local area of the Wildcat Creek at the Kokomo Area Creation meeting. The Guardians are a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the Health and Beauty of Wildcat Creek in Indiana. Wildcat Creek watershed covers 7 counties: Tippecanoe, Carroll, Clinton, Howard, Tipton, Grant and Madison
The Guardians received a grant which allowed them to put in a portage around the lowhead dam located just east of West Carter Street on the Wildcat. In December 2018, the Guardians started clearing a 400 foot trail along the Wildcat for the portage around the dam.
Mr. Parsons will be helping us understand the importance of the portage for the Wildcat system as well as the progress they have made.
The meeting will be held at Christ Lutheran Church at 3401 S. Dixon Road at 7 pm. Light refreshments and fellowship may be enjoyed at 6:45. The meeting is free and opened to all faith communities as well as individuals interested in being better stewards of the earth.
