Sustainable Living Seminar: Clean Disruption
September 12, 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Join Carmel Green Initiative for a lively discussion of Tony Seba’s video presentation of Clean Disruption of Energy and Transportation. As a Stanford University futurist, Seba spent the last decades studying technological disruptions such as computers and cell phones. He argues that electric vehicles, battery storage, and solar power are a perfect example of a 10X exponential process which will wipe fossil fuels off the market in about a decade. This seminar will have you rethinking the future of energy and transportation.
Mayor Greg Ballard will talk about the importance of reducing our oil dependence and will also highlight his new book, “Less Oil or More Caskets: The National Security Argument for Moving Away from Oil”.
Mayor Jim Brainard will share plans for a 1 MW solar field in Carmel and his leadership experience at the national level.
Kelly Snyder, Senior Operations Manager with EDP Renewables, will provide insights on the solar markets in Indiana and the U.S. and talk about the new 200 MW solar farm in Randolph County which will produce enough clean electricity to power about 37,000 homes.
