Bee Health Equals Plant Wealth

June 14, 2018 @ 6:45 pm - 8:30 pm

Chuck Dailey, Senior Beekeeper at St. Peter’s Apiary in Lebanon, Indiana and Chairman of the Education Committee for The Beekeepers of Indiana, will be the guest speaker at Kokomo Area Creation Care meeting on Thursday, June 14th at Christ Lutheran Church at 3401 S. Dixon Road at 7 pm.  He will give us some background information about beekeeping and the work of The Beekeepers of Indiana (TBoI).  He will help us understand why honeybees are necessary and important for maintaining a healthy planet.

TBoI promotes responsible small scale beekeeping within urban/suburban communities, recognizes the current plight of pollinators in general, as well as acknowledges the vital role that honeybees play, not only in our national and world food supply but also in our urban and local gardens, orchards and floral culture.

The meeting is free and open to people of all faith communities as well as interested individuals who want to learn more about the importance of the honey bee to our ecosystem as well as our food supply.  Kokomo Area Creation Care is an affiliate of Hoosier Interfaith Power and Light. Our mission is to explore ways we can become better stewards of the earth.  Fellowship and snacks may be enjoyed at 6:45 pm.  For questions or more information please contact Carol Chen at carol.4c@gmail.com.
